How Our Poker Calculator Online Works
First, a clarification: the top poker odds calculator won't work while you're in the middle of a hand (there's simply not enough time to enter all the details) but it's great if you're having a session going through old hands.
Poker Odds Tell You the Probability of Winning Any Given Hand. Before we can get into a discussion of poker odds while playing poker online, you need to know how to calculate your 'outs.' Here's a really simple trick. So there are 13 diamonds in the deck, let's say two are in your hand, and the flop comes down and there are two diamonds on the board. So now there are 9 diamonds left. So you have 9 outs on the flop. The odds one of the 9 diamonds comes on the turn is 92=18%. The odds it comes on the turn or river is 94=36%.
So, how does the OnlinePoker.com poker odds calculator work in reality
Well, it takes a few factors into consideration:
- We have 52 cards in the poker deck
- We know how many cards are left in the deck after cards have been dealt out
- We know the number of outs (cards left) that we need to make a winning hand
- We know what those outs are
Once we know all these factors, the online poker calculator works out whether you were in a winning position or not.
Using our online poker odds calculator is easy: select your chosen game (Hold'em, Omaha, Omaha Hi-Lo, 7-Card Stud etc) and click on the cards on-screen to make your theoretical hand.
Once your hand is displayed, you can select your opponent's hand. Click on the 'Deal In' button to bring in another hand and select the cards on-screen to help form an opponent's hand.
Once you've finished, you can start selecting cards to be displayed as community cards. Select three to see what your odds would be on the flop, or add a Turn card to see what your odds would be after the Turn, and so on.
Once you have your board set up, click the 'Calculate Odds' button and your hands odds will be displayed on-screen. Now you can see whether you should have called that raise by your opponent or laid your hand down.
The table below shows the odds of each hand winning in typical all-in match ups in Texas Holdem. The percentage chance of winning assumes that both players are all-in and that all 5 community cards will be dealt to determine a winner. The table also assumes that there are no other players in the hand, although the results should be very similar.

How to use the all in match-ups odds chart.
The table can be used to estimate your chances of winning in common all-in situations, however, the table does not highlight the exact probabilities for the certain match-ups in general.
For example: in the pair v overcards match-up, 2 2 would be a 53% favourite against A K instead of being a slightly stronger favourite like T T with a 57% chance of winning. The is due to other factors such as the increased probability that two overpairs will appear on the board creating a higher two-pair with a better kicker for the player holding A K.

As you can see from the table, some of the match-ups are closer than you might expect them to be. For example, if you have another player dominated with a hand like A J against J T, your opponent will win the pot 1 time in 4. Therefore you should be careful not to become overly excited when cards like these are turned over in an all-in situation, because your opponent is not always as far behind as you think.
Another interesting all-in match up is the very common AK versus an under pair. The table shows that although the odds are fairly even, the under-pair will usually have the slight advantage.
This means that it is always better to be pushing all-in rather than calling an all-in with AK if necessary, because to call with AK against an under pair is a losing play in the long run. By pushing all-in with AK you give your opponent the opportunity to fold for fear of an overpair, which will improve your expectation in the long run.
